Attendance

Description

The cost to sign up a team is £105. This will be split among the people that will say they want to attend. We will try to get some money from the GUSA or from the accounts to make it less per person.

Also, we need to know what category to sign up the team for. This will depend on who is coming. If we have enough people, we can sign up two teams.

We will be staying in tents (we have quite a few). There'll be lots of BBQ, beer, ceilidh on Friday and disco on Saturday. There's more than enough volleyball games over the two days, too! Ask anyone that attended in the previous years: it's great, that's why I am so keen on organizing it every year!

    Hi everyone,
would be good if everyone can write down here if you have a sleeping bag and a tent, so that I know how many will we need to find somewhere.

ok then, I have a 2 person tent of mine (will house me and Martin). There should be Vihar's and Terence's tent (for 2 people) and a big orange volleyball club tent (for 4 people). Konrad, any idea where these are? Usually we can source more if needed, but we need to plan ahead!

Well, no clue, I was never aware of possessing this tent. Btw, I have no tent and no sleeping bag for the time being. I am pretty sure I will be able to organize some alcohol instead and I am optimistic when it comes to findning a sleeping space :).

No tent nor sleeping bag...But I'm sure I can figure out something or buy one b4 D day..I won't worry about sleep any ways! Food & drinks are my priorities :-)

ok... seriously... at the moment no tent, no mat, no sleeping bag.
I'll try to find out who can lend me one... write back soon.

it doesnt look too good with the tents right now...apparently the big orange tent got LOST or something...we might need to resort to the TESCO solution (I dont mean sleeping in tesco, but getting a cheap tent there...)

A little change from my side, unfortunately I will have to arrive no sooner than saturday afternoon and will have to be back on sunday afternoon in Glasgow, so when it comes to volleyball I will move slightly more towards deep bench position. I will be up, though, for any drinking events whole night long.

  • Marcin Zabielski

I think they will still need cheerleaders Konrad, there is a job for you :) , practice some nice, swift moves and everyone will be happy. I'm saying them cause I don't know if myself will be able to play. Speaking about the jobs why don't we start quiting them Konrad - anyone else ... let's become bums

ok then, it looks like that if marta and tilman are coming, we could make two teams - one guys only and the other mixed. that would make it approx. 7 people per team, so the cost will be 15 pounds each. Can everybody who's coming to our party tomorrow bring the money so I can register the two teams next week? Yeah, btw, we still need some team names so fire off your suggestions. And I hope you guys are fervently looking for a tent! You can get some cheap ones (i mean really cheap) in Nevisport or in Mountain Warehouse, both on Sauchiehall Street. See y'all tomorrow!

    So, finally me again.
Sorry, for the long delay. My bigger backpack arrived yesterday (12 days after buying...)
So, Vihar told me he will bring a sleeping bag for me.
Now I still need a place in a tent ( or buy cheap one with someone at navisports or tesco or wherever) and a sleeping mate and sleeping mat. ;) Perhaps we can merge that? :-D Joooke!
Another question, who is paying, will pay, already payed my £15? Thx a lot in advance stranger, you'll get it back as soon as we met.
Terence: Vihar told me (again ;)) you bought a tent with him, you still have it (you already wrote something about that... I can't remember)?
Carla: still my tent mate? If no one can share, you wanna buy a tent with me? Our first private residential building. :-D ;)
Peter: Is there a BBQ? I mean, last year Nico brought it, didn't he?
Peter again: Is there already anything planed for the bus to Perth?
Last year we were advised to book on megabus.
Citation: "So just let all of you know, get your tickets for Perth at megabus.com,leaving on friday at 18.00, and from Perth on sunday at 17.35." - That was _last year_ !!

So, that's all for know. Cheers, kisses!

  • Peter Crkon
Peter Crkon about 3 months ago

Good. So about the bus: megabus costs 6 pounds one way. Let's take the one at 18.10 from Buchanan Bus Station (Friday). For the way back let's take the one at 17.20 on Sunday as this leaves from Perth Bus Station. Careful! If you take the bus to/from Perth Broxden P&R, it's about an hour walk to the campsite!

Timo: BBQ - we'll get the usual disposable ones from lidl at 1.29 each. I can pay for your entry fee but you'll pay me back in pounds, I dont want your stinky depreciated euro (save them for the Greeks) :)

Everyone else: Partay tonite at my place!!!

  • Carla Harris
Carla Harris about 3 months ago

hii there ..sorry i havnt been in touch here for a while!
im still in a bit of a pickle situation tentwise! but not to worry it'll be fine. timo...i see you have named me your tent mate! this is fine as long as i find a tent....which i will...and in the case that i dont, we should buy one. i'll let you know sooon. biatch! :P
BBQ...we baught a decent BBQ on saturday...i think we should take that...the disposable ones are a bit uhhg! ok i have nothing else to add!

    love charles

  • Carla Harris
Carla Harris about 3 months ago

oh and peter, i didnt give you money on friday cuz i didnt see this message...until today...so ill bring it to training tonight if you go. see you later!!

  • Peter Crkon
Peter Crkon about 3 months ago

alright folks, sorry for not turning up yesterday but i got home knackered after a two day hiking trip. Anyway, I am going to register the teams tomorrow and will pay this out from my pocket, so make sure everybody gets the money either on Friday, or before that. Ideally you can send it to my account: Clydesdale Bank 82-64-08 80517424

I will register 2 teams, both for division 1. One guys only, the other mixed. Any name suggestions?

In terms of tent hopefully everyone has an idea by now. If you dont have an idea (or a tent) get one now or you'll have to drink all night long. Forecast is cloudy and there might be some showers (rain), so you better get a tent or lots of booze.

Cool, i think that's it. Yeah, buy the bus tickets. Friday 18.00, Sunday 17.20 - to Perth Bus Station.

  • Peter Crkon
Peter Crkon about 3 months ago

ehm, ok, got the times wrong. thanks for confusing me, timo :)

it's Glasgow 18.10 on Friday and Perth 17.20 on Sunday.

  • Peter Crkon
Peter Crkon about 3 months ago

another spam from me: marta suggested that we register two mixed teams for div 1. what do you guys prefer?

  • Shunsuke Sakaguchi
Shunsuke Sakaguchi about 3 months ago

I vote Marta's suggestion; two mixed team, because 1) At least, we can make 5-boys 3-girls squad, 2) We don hv proper setter Tolik the cool man, and our best scorer, Luka the big man, and 3) Mixed seems more fun to me. ;)))

  • Man Ho Yeung
Man Ho Yeung about 3 months ago

how many guys we exactly have?
two mixed team sounds good as we dont have proper setter and middle for the guys team. Are div.1 mixed teams strong there?

  • Timo Zimmermann
Timo Zimmermann about 3 months ago

@Peter: Thx for paying! Already booked my bus to Perth and back.
@Carla: The BBQ is a very good idea! Although I still fear it will be a little too small for all those people, but we can add some disposables. ;)
So, I'm a biatch! Everybody BE jealous!
@Everybody: I still need somethign to sleep on. Insulation mat? Anyone?
@Man Ho Tooyoung: I was used to be a middle player! Ass!!!
But anyway, I like the idea about two mixed teams. I played in one last year, too.
Unfortunately my team name dosen't fit anymore:
"We've got all male genitalia" :-D Or, does it?
How about: Welcome to my face?
Ok, I paste my last years suggestions again (hell yeah!):
    My favorites:
    Team1: You've got male Genitalia
    Team2: Shaving private Ryan

    Team1: Special K
    Team2: Ordinary K

    Team1: Magic fingers
    Team2: Grasshoppers

    Team1: Big Test Icicles
    Team2: Wii Not Fit

    Team1: Multiple Scorgasms
    Team2: Victorious Secret

And a little bit more booooring, to identify the uni:

    Team1: GU smashers
    Team2: Glaswegian ball wizards

What about Luka and Tolik? Why won't they make it? Is Luka sending his girlfriend instead?

    Kiiissses!

  • Marcin Zabielski
Marcin Zabielski about 3 months ago

Peter, I'm going but I don't think that I am able to play so count as as spectator. Also, you'd better find out about Iza 'cause she might not be coming at all.

  • Louise King

    Hey guys.
Broke my laptop so haven't been able to get on here until now but I'm gonna steal my dad's tent from home which can fit 6 people I think, It's got 2 "bedrooms" and a room in the middle so is a good tent for hosting parties in case it rains :)
Has anyone found out if there are any spare speakers floating about so we can have some music on the go? Mine need to be plugged in so can't bring them and I do enjoy a wee bit of music in the background :)

  • Kirsty Mclean
Kirsty Mclean about 3 months ago

Hey guys! Ok...so im in pwick at the moment and do definitly have 2 tents so i'll bring them both back up to ggow with me. So are we going for the 2 mixed teams then? Im still having to play with my other team on the saturday so there'll be one less girl then if that effects anything?

  • Timo Zimmermann
Timo Zimmermann about 3 months ago

ok, it's working again.. Obviously there was a server problem. I'm not doing anything wrong. ;) :-P
Sooo, yeah. I already wrote the things I wanted to say... except:
@Kirsty & Louise: Thank you very much for the tents and the efford!
    @Sportmeets: I like this built-in DNA test.
    It says:
    - You are 50% compatible with Marcin Zabielski
    - You are 33% compatible with Man Ho Yeung (that's very sad!!!)
    - You are 20% compatible with Marta Stremska (that's very sad, too!)
    - You are 94% compatible with Martin Dvořák - That scares me!

  • Miro Solanka
Miro Solanka about 3 months ago

Pooor me, I am only 20% compatible with Timo too... :/

Hi all, good news for the homeless/tentless people out there. Yesterday I found the big orange tent that I thought was lost! So I have place for four more people. That makes the tent count as follows:
    Kirsty 2 tents (4-5 people?)
    Peter 2 tents (6 people)
    Terrence 1 tent (2 people)
    Louise 1 (6 people - party tent!)

I will be paying the entry fee in cash right there in Perth, so have your 15 quid ready on Friday (assuming 7 people per team). It might be 17.5 pounds if we only have 6 people/team.

Good, hope you bought your bus tickets already - it might be sold out if you leave it for the last minute.

    See you all tomorrow!

  • Olesya Ignatova
Olesya Ignatova about 3 months ago

I'll have a tent for two people, presumably myself and Wout. I also have a set of small speakers that could be connected to an ipod, two 1.5V batteries required.

Peter, my £15 should be in your account by now.
